Trump expands TrumpRx drug discount program to more than 800 medications through most-favored-nation deals

President Trump announced Friday that TrumpRx.gov has added 160 prescription drugs, bringing the program's total to more than 800 discounted medications. The expansion follows agreements with 16 major pharmaceutical companies under most-favored-nation pricing arrangements. Companies including Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk are participating, with discounts covering GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, inhalers, HIV treatments, diabetes medications, and fertility drugs.

President Trump announced Friday via Truth Social that his administration's TrumpRx.gov program would expand to cover more than 800 commonly used prescription medications after adding 160 new drugs. The website, launched in February, allows users to search for discounted medications, view estimated savings, and generate coupons for participating prescriptions.

The administration finalized agreements with 16 major pharmaceutical companies under what it describes as most-favored-nation pricing arrangements. Under the deals, participating drugmakers received tariff-related exemptions in exchange for agreeing to lower prices on certain medications and extending discounted pricing to eligible cash-paying consumers through TrumpRx.

Trump wrote in his Truth Social post that the program now covers "four out of five of every prescription filled by Americans" and that tariffs were central to securing the agreements, arguing they pressured other countries to contribute more to drug development costs rather than "relying on American Patients getting ripped off." He stated the program has saved American patients "over 400 Million Dollars since the launch of TrumpRx.gov," though Fox News did not attribute this figure to an independent source.
