Rep. Thomas Massie says Republicans have made no serious effort to repeal Obamacare, suggests calling it 'Trumpcare'

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., posted on X that Republicans have made "no serious effort to repeal Obamacare" despite controlling the House, Senate, and White House, suggesting the law could now be called "Trumpcare." Massie, who lost his Republican primary in May to a Trump-backed challenger, also said President Trump has "endorsed literally every Republican who wants to keep Obamacare."

Rep. Thomas Massie posted the remarks on X on Wednesday, writing: "Might as well call it Trumpcare now. Our party has made no serious effort to repeal Obamacare and legalize affordable health insurance after taking control of the House, Senate & White House." He added that the current system "enriches insurance and hospital companies."

When a user on X asked whether Trump could act on his own to address the issue, Massie replied that the president had "endorsed literally every Republican who wants to keep Obamacare" — a reference Massie appeared to frame as an explanation for the lack of legislative movement on repeal.

Massie lost the Republican primary in Kentucky's 4th Congressional District in May to Ed Gallrein, a former Navy SEAL backed by President Trump. Massie has served in the House since late 2012. Fox News Digital reported it reached out to the White House for comment early Thursday morning but did not receive a response in time for publication.
