Former Rep. Cori Bush campaigns alongside activist who defended Hamas and endorsed political violence

Former Rep. Cori Bush appeared in a social media post beside Christopher Winston, a self-described Maoist activist and Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) member who campaigns under the name "BlackRedGuard," according to a Fox News Digital review of his online presence. Winston has publicly praised Bush's candidacy, writing in a May 2025 post that "Cori Bush is the best of STL, and DSA," and separately called on supporters to help her defeat "the AIPAC money that stole her seat."

Winston's online statements, reviewed by Fox News Digital, include a post reading, "If you say s--- like 'I don't support Hezbollah/Hamas' and call yourself a leftist you lame. All power to all the resistance. Peace through the sword." A separate 2024 post stated, "I applaud the burning of the American flag," and a June 2025 post on X read, "Do not fix America. Unmake it." In a 2024 YouTube video, Winston asked, "What's wrong with throwing Molotov cocktails at a police station?" and, when a co-host raised concerns about organizational consequences, replied, "That's why we want the masses to do it."

Fox News Digital asked Bush's campaign whether Winston holds any formal or informal role with the campaign, whether Bush knows him personally, and whether he was invited to the event where the photo was taken. The campaign did not answer those questions, instead sending a link to a Fox News article about a television personality defending democratic socialism.
