Sara Mahmoud worked as a social media manager for Florida state Rep. Angie Nixon, a Democratic Senate candidate backed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), as recently as June, according to Fox News Digital, which reported the story exclusively. Federal Election Commission filings show Mahmoud received at least $8,400 for services rendered between June and July, though a third-quarter filing had not yet been released at the time of publication.
Mahmoud's social media posts, cataloged by the antisemitism watchdog Canary Mission and reported by Fox News Digital, span multiple accounts and aliases. In a November 2018 post — made on a day when Hamas fired as many as 400 rockets into Israel — Mahmoud wrote, "Glory and honor to our freedom fighters. Praying for their safety and success." Later that year, she reposted content celebrating Hamas's 31st founding anniversary. In a 2015 post, she described Israel as conducting "a mass genocide and ethnic cleansing." In 2016, she wrote, "Wow, white Jews are so entitled lmfaoooo please die." In 2017, she stated that Twitter had banned her "for saying zios should ch*ke." A separate post from 2018 stated, "Any means used by Palestinians to liberate ourselves from white supremacist Israeli colonizers is just."
The Nixon campaign, through a spokesperson, did not say whether it was aware of the posts when Mahmoud was hired and declined to comment on whether the campaign found the posts appropriate. The campaign noted that Mahmoud had departed for another employment opportunity and was no longer with Nixon's operation. Mahmoud did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
